What are your hours?
Big Box Storage is open seven days a week. Representatives are available between the hours of 7:30am and 6:00pm Monday through Friday and weekend hours are from 7:30am to 5:00 pm (excluding major holidays). Existing customers may also access their account information and make payments online 24 hours a day.
How secure and weatherproof is a Big Box?
Big Box storage units are designed to be both secure and weather-resistant. Their wooden construction naturally insulates against temperature changes and regulates humidity, helping to keep the interior stable and reduce the risk of mold and mildew.
What's the difference between a Big Box and a metal storage container?
A Big Box storage container is made of wood, which won’t rust or corrode, making it ideal for long-term storage. The smooth, forgiving surfaces also help protect furniture and valuables from scratches and dents.
How do I access my belongings at your storage facility?
Access is available every day of the week. To access your belongings, simply provide two hours advance notice between the hours of 10am and 3pm (need to call by 1pm and finish by 4pm) and your Big Box(es) will be ready for you when you arrive at the San Diego storage facility. There’s never a charge to access your storage!

How does delivery and pickup work for a Big Box?
Once you place your order, Big Box Storage will deliver the container right to your address at a scheduled time. You can take your time loading it, and once you’re done, we’ll return to pick it up and bring it to our secure storage facility—or deliver it to a new address if you’re moving. On-site: The Big Box stays at your location (home, business, etc.) for immediate access anytime. Great for active loading/unloading or short-term needs.
At our facility: We pick up your loaded box and store it at our secure indoor facility (7077 Consolidated Way). Your items are protected by video surveillance, alarms, and on-site staff. You can access 7 days a week with 2 hours notice. Great for long-term storage or if space is limited at your location.
Can you deliver to multiple locations during a staged move?
Yes! This is a common request. We can pick up your loaded Big Box from your current location and deliver it to your new address anywhere in San Diego County. For moves outside the area, we offer long-distance shipping to major metro areas across the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii.
What if I need to extend my rental period?
No problem! There’s no maximum rental period, and extending is easy. You simply continue paying your monthly storage rate for as long as you need. Contact us anytime to discuss your timeline or make changes to your rental.
Do you provide moving supplies or packing materials?
While we don’t load the boxes for you, you can order packing supplies when scheduling your Big Box delivery online. We also work with several trusted moving companies who can handle loading for you—just ask us for a referral at (619) 353-5995.
