Within the standard service area, the initial delivery of an empty box and return to pickup a full box is $99 roundtrip. Yes! Many San Diego contractors use Big Box containers as secure on-site tool storage, eliminating the need to load/unload trucks daily. The sturdy wooden construction with lockable doors helps protect valuable tools and equipment from theft. For high-value items on unsecured sites, some contractors prefer storing at our facility overnight and getting morning delivery to the job site—we can discuss flexible pickup/delivery schedules.

Absolutely! Unlike traditional storage with minimum commitments, Big Box has NO minimum rental period. Need storage for just a 2-week bathroom remodel? A one-month project? No problem—you only pay for the time you actually use. This flexibility makes us ideal for short-term residential projects, emergency repairs, or quick commercial build-outs.

Every Big Box includes weather-resistant covering for protection during on-site storage. The wooden construction naturally regulates temperature and humidity better than metal containers, helping prevent moisture damage, mold, and extreme temperature fluctuations that can affect materials. For highly sensitive materials (certain adhesives, electronics, specialty finishes), consider storing at our climate-stable indoor facility between use.

Yes! This is a common practice for contractors working multiple projects. Simply call us at (619) 353-5995 when you’re ready to relocate your Big Box to a new job site in San Diego County. We’ll schedule pickup from the current location and delivery to your next project site. Additional delivery fees may apply depending on locations—contact us for details on your specific routing needs.

Each Big Box supports up to 2,000 pounds—sufficient for most construction materials including lumber, drywall, tools, and small equipment. For reference, that’s approximately 100 sheets of 1/2″ drywall or 1,000 square feet of standard roofing shingles. Load heavier items on the bottom and distribute weight evenly. For extremely heavy equipment (industrial machinery, large generators), contact us to discuss whether on-site storage or our facility is the better option.

Each Big Box measures 8′ x 5′ x 7′ (L x W x H exterior) and can typically hold one room of contents. Should you need additional space, multiple Big Boxes can always be delivered. Big Box Storage is open seven days a week. Representatives are available between the hours of 7:30am and 6:00pm Monday through Friday and weekend hours are from 7:30am to 5:00 pm (excluding major holidays). Existing customers may also access their account information and make payments online 24 hours a day.

Big Box storage units are designed to be both secure and weather-resistant. Their wooden construction naturally insulates against temperature changes and regulates humidity, helping to keep the interior stable and reduce the risk of mold and mildew.

 

A Big Box storage container is made of wood, which won’t rust or corrode, making it ideal for long-term storage. The smooth, forgiving surfaces also help protect furniture and valuables from scratches and dents.

Access is available every day of the week. To access your belongings, simply provide two hours advance notice between the hours of 10am and 3pm (need to call by 1pm and finish by 4pm) and your Big Box(es) will be ready for you when you arrive at the San Diego storage facility. There’s never a charge to access your storage!

Once you place your order, Big Box Storage will deliver the container right to your address at a scheduled time. You can take your time loading it, and once you’re done, we’ll return to pick it up and bring it to our secure storage facility—or deliver it to a new address if you’re moving.
