The company will provide all necessary storage units to house more than 100,000 toys collected for the patients of Rady Children’s Hospital.
As part of the event, Machado will be lifted 40 feet into the air via scissor lift and will remain on an 8′ x 10′ platform until the toy collection goal is reached. His temporary residence above ground symbolizes the collective effort to uplift children undergoing medical treatment by delivering joy through simple, yet meaningful, gestures, such as new, unwrapped toys.
“San Diego has consistently demonstrated generosity and community spirit,” said Machado. “Every toy makes a difference. It’s not just a gift—it’s a reminder to these kids that they are seen and supported.”
During the course of the event, all toy donations will be securely stored in Big Box Storage containers placed on-site. Once the toy drive concludes, the storage units will be transported to Big Box’s climate-controlled storage facility, where they will be housed and distributed to Rady Children’s Hospital as needed throughout the year.
This donation of storage services ensures the long-term management, security, and availability of the donated items, maximizing their impact on patients and hospital staff alike.
