Big Box Storage Joins
forces with popular local radio stations
for holiday charity drive
Big Box Storage in Denver is
happy to announce it is partnering with Denver radio station KOOL 105 FM for
the annual “Fill The Mayflower”
charity drive. One of the most
successful charity drives in Denver, organizers expect this year to be the
biggest charity drive in station history.
Big Box Storage will provide 650 book
boxes which will contain the donations and which will eventually be stacked
inside the large 18-wheel Mayflower-truck.
Big Box Storage will also be providing all other necessary packing
supplies as well as two of their large 8' x 5' x 7' portable storage units to
act as heating and rest stations for the staff during the five day event.
The “Fill The Mayflower” charity drive
will take place at Rocky’s Autos at 63rd and Federal in Denver
between Thursday, November 15, and Monday, November 19. Anyone wishing to help donate to fill the
Mayflower is encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, clothing and toys
to put into the Big Box containers.
"Big
Box is thrilled to be partnered with KOOL 105 and Rocky’s Autos for this great
community event,” Big Box Storage owner Paul McPherson says. “The
holiday season is the perfect time to lend a helping hand to your fellow man,
we’re just happy to be a part of it.”
Big Box Storage is a portable storage
company which provides a storage container, a "Big Box," which is delivered to
the customer’s home for loading. Once packed, it is picked up for storing at
the company’s centrally-located Denver facilities, where it may be accessed any
day of the week by the customer.
Lakewood, CO - October 22, 2007 - Like a scene from the movie, “It’s A Wonderful Life” the donations just kept rolling in. Volunteers and employees for the Colorado Humane Society in Lakewood were “overwhelmed” by the outpouring of support, until help came in the form of Big Box Storage.
Big Box owner Paul McPherson saw the plight of the Humane Society on the news and immediately knew he could help. “I just called them up and asked them if they could use a few boxes,” McPherson said.
The Humane Society is currently using six of the 8 ½ x 7-foot, portable storage units Big Box uses for packing and storage. Shelter Adoption Manager Susan Fredinburg says the boxes were “crucial” in allowing the shelter make use of the donations, which included a 2,000-pound delivery from the Metro Denver Shelter Alliance. “Without the boxes, we’d have to turn people away who want to help,” Fredinburg says.
McPherson says he’s happy to be of help and hopes the visibility of the Big Boxes also serves as a reminder to everyone to keep the donations flowing. Fredinburg says the donations being stored in the boxes should last about a month. The boxes remain in front of the Colorado Humane Society for anyone who wants to drop off donations
